Founder, XandY Communications

ColletteDunkley

Collette Dunkley is the founder of XandY Communications, the only agency that specialises in gender communications and adds value to organisations that want to increase female engagement in the workplace and marketplace.

XandY advises how to apply different approaches in Marketing, PR, HR and Sales and runs training courses to leadership and customer-facing teams. The courses help clients  communicate, market and sell differently to men and women externally (increasing female market share) and internally to foster better mixed team dynamics, gender-neutral cultures and neutral employer branding(leading to higher retention and promotion levels). Collette combines extensive global PR and Marketing experience with real insight into the behavioural differences between the sexes which lead them to communicate, shop, think and make decisions differently.  She has spent the last six years researching gender science and applying predictive behavioural differences to business practices.

Before setting up XandY, Collette rose to Executive Board director with a number of global companies and has headed up Communications and Marketing in General Motors (Vauxhall, Saab, Opel, Chevrolet), Vodafone, COLT, Cable+Wireless and NIE.    She chaired GM Europe's Women's Panel to try to make the car industry more female-friendly and has run long-term change management programmes across all internal and external touchpoints.

Collette advises global organisations, brands, charities, political parties, personalities and various broadcasters on gender-intelligence related issues. As well as being an entertaining speaker and writer on the differences in gender behaviour, she lectures extensively in strategic communications at Universities in London, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Belfast, Cranfield, Leeds and Tehran.

Born in Liverpool, Collette went to the University of Bath and now lives in London.
